Week 6. Tools for Tantra: Reflection questions 2 Copy

1. “So’hum. I am that”

So’hum contains within itself an inherent rhythm that naturally aligns with your breathing. This is a perfect mantra to let murmur in your mind as you meditate, gently aligning it with your breath.

Sit in meditation for at least 10 minutes. Bring your awareness to your breath feeling the flow both in and out. On the inhale let the word “so” accompany your breath and on the exhale, let your breath release using the “ham” part of this mantra. Sense its vibration.

Who is “I”? What is “that”?

2. Self-affirmations

During the next days, notice the kind of words that you use when (internally) talking to yourself.

How is the quality of your internal dialogue?

Each word has a frequency and with enough repetition our cells start to vibrate at that frequency. If you find yourself getting caught up in negative self-talk, commit to replace it with positive affirmations.

Choose the top three unnecessary harsh words/phrases that you constantly repeat to yourself and write down three positive affirmations in their place. Each time that you catch yourself using the negative self-talk, repeat the positive affirmations five times. Self-affirmations can be used to combat deeply ingrained patterns and replace them with more adaptive narratives.
