Holosomatic® Breathwork is the breathing practice at the heart of the Holosomatic® Method, created by Alexis Alcalá and taught by InnerCamp since 2018. It uses conscious connected breathing, supported by touch, music and guided intention, to help people feel what their body has been holding.
What happens in a session
You lie down on a mat, usually with wireless headphones on. A facilitator guides you into a steady, connected breathing rhythm with no pause between the inhale and the exhale. Music carries the session through different phases, from building energy to deep rest.
While you breathe, trained facilitators move around the room. With your consent, they may offer supportive touch to help you release tension or stay grounded. At the end, there is time to rest and integrate what you felt.
What makes it different
Many breathwork styles focus on the breath alone. The Holosomatic® Method weaves together four elements:
- Breathwork: conscious connected breathing to shift your state.
- Bodywork: consent-based touch to help the body let go.
- Energy activation: movement and sound to wake up energy in the body.
- Manifestation: setting a clear intention for the change you want.
Who it is for
People come for many reasons: to release stress, to reconnect with their body, to process emotions, or simply out of curiosity. No experience is needed. Breathwork can bring up strong sensations, so it is not suitable for everyone. Read the contraindications of breathwork before you book, and speak to your doctor if you have concerns about your health.
How to try it
Learning to guide it
If you want to guide sessions yourself, the Holosomatic Breathwork® Facilitator Training is a 300-hour, CPD-accredited programme over four months, online or hybrid with an in-person week in Málaga. More than 2,500 facilitators have trained with InnerCamp.
Frequently asked questions
Is Holosomatic® Breathwork the same as holotropic breathwork?
No. Both use connected breathing and music, but the Holosomatic® Method also includes bodywork, energy activation and manifestation. Read our comparison of the two.
How long is a session?
Sessions at our events usually last a few hours including the introduction, the breathing journey and integration. Online membership sessions are shorter.
Do I need experience?
No. Facilitators guide you step by step, and you can always slow your breath down if it feels like too much.
