What is the Holosomatic® Method?

The Holosomatic® Method is an integrative approach to self-development, created by Alexis Alcalá and taught by InnerCamp, that works with the connection between mind, body and energy. It combines breathwork, bodywork, energy activation and manifestation, practised as one guided arc rather than separate techniques. You can experience it at a live event or online, or train to guide it as a facilitator.

What the Holosomatic® Method is

The word “holosomatic” joins “holo” (whole) and “somatic” (relating to the body). The method sees the body as an intelligent system, and uses guided practices to help people release stored emotions, regulate the nervous system, become more aware of their body and find a steadier sense of balance.

Holosomatic® Method and Holosomatic® are registered brands of InnerCamp, a school founded in 2018. More than 2,500 students from 45 countries have studied the method with us.

The four layers

Every Holosomatic® session draws on four layers, practised together:

  • Breathwork: conscious connected breathing to reach states the mind alone cannot reach.
  • Bodywork: touch and self-release so the body can let go of held tension.
  • Energy: activating and connecting the body's energy centres.
  • Manifestation: intention, emotion and imagination working together, so what has opened in the body reaches into the way you live.

The seven phases

On our City Retreats, the method follows seven phases:

  • Release the Body: Notice tension and reconnect with what your body is feeling.
  • Activate the Energy: Explore breath and movement to awaken a sense of vitality.
  • Meet the Guardian: Recognise the protective patterns that may be holding you back.
  • Clear the Root: Explore what lies beneath the patterns you want to change.
  • Claim the Vision: Get clearer on what matters to you and where you want to go.
  • Build the Plan: Translate your insights into realistic, meaningful next steps.
  • Anchor for Life: Choose practices to carry into your everyday life.

What a session feels like

You lie down, put on wireless headphones and follow the music and the facilitator's voice. Every practice is guided step by step, so there is nothing to prepare and nothing to get right.

Some people cry, shake or make sound; this is a normal release from the nervous system, and there is no pressure to do the same. Much of the time the room is quiet: breathing, music and stillness. You can slow down or rest whenever you need to, the team is there to support you, and grounding techniques are taught so you can regulate your own experience.

Everyone's experience is different, and results cannot be guaranteed.

Who it is for

The method is open to adults of every level, from first-timers to experienced practitioners. People come to release stress and tension, reconnect with their body, explore their emotions in a held space, or learn to guide others as facilitators, coaches or bodyworkers.

Who it is not for

The Holosomatic® Method is not for anyone under 18, during pregnancy, within 24 hours of alcohol, drugs or psychedelics, after fasting for 48 hours, or with a condition on our contraindications list, such as epilepsy, cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, glaucoma, major surgery in the last 6 months or a severe mental health condition. It is not a substitute for medical advice. If you are unsure, please ask your doctor before booking.

Some practices can bring up significant past events. Our sessions, retreats and trainings are intended for people in sound mental health; please do not take part if you, or the practitioners caring for you, have past or current concerns about your mental health.
