Do you go hardcore on spirituality and also love eye-gazing before lovemaking and orgasm? Can you be sexual and spiritually aligned?
Mystics and gurus have long referred to the similarities between meditation and orgasm to reach enlightenment. Osho, an Indian spiritual teacher, was famous for his acknowledgment of the mystical value of an orgasm.
“The experience of orgasm itself is always nonsexual. Even though you have achieved it through sex.”
Recently, neurobiologists have showed that orgasm and meditation create much the same effect in our brains. Both meditation and orgasm decrease our sense of self-awareness and decrease the sense of pain. In other words, both experiences lead to a temporary ceasing in the incessant flow of our internal commentary. Hence, we are able to see ourselves as something other than the ego.
A full-body energy orgasm – also known as a spiritual orgasm – seems to be the Holy Grail, something reserved for the spiritual elite. The truth is that everyone has the capacity to experience a full-body energy orgasm.
If you would like to experience one yourself, it is necessary to realize that you are an energetic being living in a gross, physical body. Whether you are aware of it or not, energy is continuously channeling through you, through highly sophisticated network of energetic channels.
Tantra hold the belief that there is a generalized energy to all things – in English, the closet word for this is bioenergy. When you talk about someone’s ‘vibes’ this is kind of what you’re referring to. In particular, our sexual energy is recognized as dynamic and powerful life force with tremendous potential. Our sexual energy can be used to shape our world and to self-actualize, but it must be harnessed and directed. Just as we know that if we do not control our minds, our minds will control us, the sexual energy must be properly channeled.
When the sexual energy accumulates in the genital area alone, it is limited to producing very superficial pleasure that is outwardly explosive and very short in duration. The sexual response cycle generally has four phases: excitement, plateau which extends to the brink of orgasm, climax, and resolution, during which the body slowly returns to its normal level of functioning.
We can amplify the power of the sexual energy by tapping into this cycle and drawing the energy inwardly. It involves a combination of deep breathing, energy “channeling,” and presence. In this way, it can transform into a spiritual ecstasy that ripples throughout the entire being – mind, body, and soul – in the form of a spiritual orgasm. It feels like the entire body is a giant honey pot of bliss.
How can you recognize a full body orgasm? Unlike “normal” orgasm, which is centered in the genital region, the full-body orgasm can be experienced in many different parts of the body. It could feel like tingling and goosebumps all over the body. Moreover, a spiritual orgasm has no inherent limits or end and has the capacity to generate waves of continuous blissful pleasure. It can also be very healing in nature, eliminating blockages, releasing trauma, reinstating health, and balancing the emotions.
If the sensing and movement of subtle energy does not come so easily for you, then the Tantra Method Teacher training can provide you with great tools for accessing your true energetic potential on all levels – physical, energetic, mental, emotional, sexual, and spiritual.
